2-day Chess Tournament concludes at CT World School

Manan Gupta and Saina Mador wins Best Youngest Title
 
Jalandhar 27 May (Jaswinder Azad)- Every chess master was once a beginner. Keeping this in mind and in order to make future chess champions, Jalandhar Chess Association (JCA) organised a two day chess tournament at CT World School, Shahpur. The tournament was closed by S. Charanjit Singh Channi,  Mr. Manbir Singh, Managing Director, CT Group, Ms. Madhu Sharma, Principal, CT World School, JCA Vice President Mr. Ashwani Tiwari and Secretary Mr. Muneesh Thapar.
The tournament was being held under seven different categories, U-7, U-11, U-15 and U-19 (each open and girls separate). More than 100 players from the city participated in this tournament. Players played five tough rounds and the winners managed to bag the top positions. U-7Agam Tandon and Aarav Singla wins first and second position respectively, U-7 Girls Chinar Goel wins first and Aarika Kapoor wins second position, U-11 Tanmay Jain and Dhairya Aggarwal wins first and second position, U-11 Girls Anahita Verma and Tiya Setia wins First and second position respectively, U-15 Open Dhirain Vij wins first and Neeraj Mehta wins Second Position, U-15 Girls Nupur Kanda wins first and Dhanshika Jain bags second position, U-19 open Dushyant Sharma got first position and Anshul Mehta bags second Position respectively whereas Manan Gupta and Saina Mador Bags Best Youngest boy and girl Title respectively. The tournament also got three best CT World namely Vaibhav Klair, Pratham Garg and Kashvi Mador   
Telling about the event, Secretary of JCA, Mr. Muneesh Thapar said, “This was the first tournament of the year which was being played as Swiss League System under latest FIDE Laws. This was a selection tournament for Punjab state championship. Winners will now represent Jalandhar district in the coming Punjab state chess tournament in respective categories.”
S. Charanjit Singh Channi, Chairman, CT Group congratulated the winners and also lauded the efforts of JCA for organizing this event of great interest and said that such events increases the power of thinking and reasoning of the players and make them more witty and active.
