Jalandhar 29 May (Jaswinder Azad)- At Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Autonomous and Heritage Institution, Jalandhar the department of Agriculture Sciences was inaugurated by Mr. Chander Mohan, President of Arya Shikha Mandal and KMV Managing committee. Throwing further light Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Principal, KMV averred that KMV has entered higher league of educational institutions after becoming the first autonomous women college of Punjab. In the session commencing in July 2018 KMV is introducing 17 new courses along with upgradation of syllabi of all courses with 21st Century skills. B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture is also being introduced in this session. Thus the Agriculture Sciences department which class-rooms and Agronomy lab was inaugurated. Mr. Chander Mohan wishing the upcoming Department all success averred that a degree in B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture is of much significance in the current scenario. The aim of this programme is to provide employment. The pursuants will find placement in State and Central government, Manufactures and Suppliers in irrigation system, District Horticulture Officer, Agricultural product processing industry, Agricultural research scientists etc. It is worth mentioning here that as India is leading global leader in agricultural and major domains like:- agribusiness, R&D organizations, public and private agencies, government and policy making agencies, banks, and private consulting companies. Dr. V.K. Kaul (ex) Professor, Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana and former Director, School of Agricultural Sciences, Uttarakhand Open University shall be leading the Agricultural Sciences programme of the College. The programme offers unique opportunities to the girls students to study the Agricultural course at moderate fees structure with good hostel facilities and the safe campus located in the heart of Jalandhar City.
