Jalandhar 5 May (Jaswinder Azad)- PG Department of Computer Science & Information Technology, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar organized International Conference on ‘Computing Trends & E-Business Technologies-2018’. The chief guest of the occasion was Dr. Lalit Kumar Awasthi, Director, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar. The Keynote address was delivered by Dr. Hardeep Singh, Professor and Head, Dept. of CS, GNDU, Amritsar. The special guests for the occasion were Dr. Lalit Sen Sharma, Prof, Dept. of CS & IT, University of Jammu & Ms. Himani Kapoor CEO, Next Generation Mobile Clients, USA. Conference Convener & Head of Department, CS & IT, Dr. Manohar Singh gave a brief introduction of the conference theme. He mentioned enhanced knowledge about computing trends and e-business technologies in present era of information and technological revolution as the main motive of organization of this conference.
Principal Dr. G.S Samra welcomed the guests and encouraged all the delegates as well as the students to contribute with full enthusiasm in the field of research. Sardarni Balbir Kaur (President, Governing Council) congratulated Principal and PG Dept of CS & IT for organization of the conference. She motivated all the faculty members to ensure maximum contribution toward research, so as to give something new to the society. Chief Guest Dr. Awasthi focused on the power of creativity and innovation. He advised everyone to be mindful of both the above mentioned criterion to be successful.
Keynote speaker Dr. Hardeep Singh praised the Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar for its heartfelt participation in all the opportunities extended to it by GNDU. Focusing on the conference theme, he mentioned about knowledge & knowledge management, data analytics and artificial intelligence and stressed on the vast scope of research in all these fields. The proceedings of the conference were also released during the inaugural Session.
In this international conference, 51 research papers were contributed by researchers from various parts of India, USA, Canada etc, which were presented in six technical sessions in three parallel tracks simultaneously. The Sessions were chaired by Dr. Sucheta Upadhyaya Bhasin, Dept. of CS & IT, Kurukshetra; Dr. Gurwinder Singh, Professor, Dept of CS & IT, GNDU, Amritsar; Dr. Anand Thakur, Assistant Prof., Central University of Tamil Nadu & Dr. Kanwaljeet Singh, Director, University Computer Center, Punjabi University, Patiala. During valedictory session, vote of thanks was presented by co-ordinator Dr. Baldev Singh. The stage was conducted by Prof. Sandeep Bassi, Prof. Ratnakar Mann, Prof. Daljit Kaur and Prof. Ramandeep Kaur in a decent manner. Prof. Sanjeev Anand, Prof. Manpreet Singh, Prof. Sandeep Singh, Prof. Mandeep Bhatia and Prof. Gagandeep Singh were also present.
