K.M.V. Organizes Creative Writing Competition

Jalandhar 9 May (Gurkirat Singh)- English Writing Society under the aegis of P.G.Dept. of English organized a Creative Writing Competition to provide a platform for giving vent to the hidden abilities and talents of the students. A large number of students from various streams participated in this competition with zeal and enthusiasm. The topics for the poem writing competition were – Beauty, Dream, Our Planet Earth and Patriotism. The topics for the Story Writing Competition were – That Incident Changed My Life, The Day I Overcame Fear, One May Smile and Smile and yet be a villain, Hope sustains life. The Principal, K.M.V. Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi and Mrs.Seema Jain (Head P.G. Dept. of English) gave away prizes to the winners. In the poem writing competition, Rishibha Sondhi from B.Com. Sem-IV and Shruti Sharma from B.A.-Sem-II jointly bagged first prize. Anshika Rana from B.A. HSC Sem-IV and Amandeep Saini from B.A. HSC Sem-VI Jointly bagged second prize. Minakshi Suri from B.Sc. Non Med.-Sem-IV and Pawanpreet Kaur from B.A.Sem.-II jointly bagged third prize. In the Story Writing Competition Umang Arora from B.A. Sem-VI and Anushka thakur from B.A.HSE Sem-VI jointly baged first prize. Saloni Kohli from B.A. Sem-IV, Priya Kaushal from B.A. Sem.-II and Ishman Brar from B.A. Sem.-IV jointly bagged second prize. Tanya Vij from B.Sc. H.Sc. Sem.-VI and Tavleen Kaur from PGDCA jointly bagged third prize while Ranchal Kris from B.Sc. Medical bagged consolation prize. Principal Prof. Dr.Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated all the participants and prize winners. She said that such competitions were invaluable platforms for blossoming of creative literary talents.
