These Programmes offered at KMV with no extra fees
Jalandhar 22 May (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Autonomous and Heritage Institution, Jalandhar has entered higher league of colleges by gaining Autonomous Status. KMV has introduced many new initiatives and reforms in education. Throwing light on these reforms Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Principal, KMV adumbrated that being the first and only autonomous women college of Punjab, KMV has made diligent and visionary endeavours to upgrade syllabus of all courses with 21st century skills. In the session commencing from July 2018 many value added programmes are being introduced with each semester. It is worth mentioning here that these programmes will be offered only at KMV with no extra fees. The students will be given grades which will add value to their degrees. The programmes being introduced in various semesters are:
• Semester-1st- Foundation Programme
• Semester- 2nd- Moral Education and social Outreach
• Semester- 3rd- Personality Development (Multiple aspects including soft skills, yoga)
• Semester- 4th-Communication skills and spoken English (Including Interview skills)
• Semester- 5th -Gender Sensitization and Self Defense
• Semester- 6th- Reasoning Mental Abilities.
All these programmes are designed with the holistic development and growth of our students in mind. Among other student Development Programmes we have Foreign Languages taught by Foreign Teachers. Each year we have teachers from France, Germany and Spain to teach native languages. Counselling (Career and General Counselling) is offered throughout the year to the students. Centre for Competitive Exams prepares students for IAS, PCS, Bank, PO, UGC, Defense Services etc. Institute of IELTS by guided experts provided on-campus IELTS training to the desirous candidates. Under Student Mentoring Programme each teacher mentors 10 to 15 students. International tie-ups with US Universities like Chatham, Boston and Lesley Universities play a pivotal role in evolving KMVites into global citizens. Such wide variety of meaningful programmes reiterate KMV’s commitment to our students meaningful futures.
