Workshop on Start Ups: Motivating Youth towards Self Employment Ventures in Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus

Jalandhar 17 January (Jaswinder Azad)- Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus in association with PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry organized one day workshop on "Start Ups: Motivating Youth towards Self Employment Ventures” on 16 January 2017 at Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus, Jalandhar. Ms. Kanika Chopra, from Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus, Jalandhar welcomed the participants and also introduced resource persons for the workshop. She thanked PHD Chamber of Commerce for organising such motivational and inspiring workshops for their students.
Mr. Sanjeev Juneja, Convener - Jalandhar Chapter, PHD Chamber, while emphasizing the importance of the workshop, said, entrepreneurial development is essential for the economic development of a country. Instead of going after private and government jobs, people should make an effort to get themselves by starting their own business. Under present circumstances entrepreneurship development programme assumes much importance.
Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director, Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus mentioned that this is an excellent opportunity for aspiring entrepreneurs and prospective candidates to discover more about Entrepreneurship and interact with the successful entrepreneurs to gain valuable insights on Entrepreneurship ecosystem. He also mentioned that Apeejay Institute of Management Technical Campus regularly organizes such workshops to provide budding entrepreneurs with support and guidance to turn their entrepreneurial dreams into reality.
Dr. Gurvinder Kaur, Associate Professor, Dept. of Public Administration and Ms. Disha Sharma, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Commerce, MCM DAV College for Women, Chandigarh discussed in detail the benefits of adopting Entrepreneurship as  a career choice. While highlighting the traits of an Entrepreneur, they mentioned confidence, clarity of vision, creativity, tenacity, Leadership, determination, tolerance, risk taking capacity are required in any potential entrepreneur.
Successful entrepreneurs, Mr. Ekant Aggarwal, Executive Director, SACC India, Chandigarh and Mr. Param Kalra, Founder of Starthub Nation, Chandigarh & Founder of Satnam Infosys, Chandigarh also shared their entrepreneurial journey with the students. They mentioned the programme intends to transform the entrepreneurial aspirations of ambitious individuals into real action and new enterprises.
Director Dr. Rajesh Bagga expressed that such face-to-face interactions with successful entrepreneurs prove really beneficial for the students to decide their career aspirations.
