HMV joins hands with Kanya Shiksha Prasar Sangathan under extension activities

Jalandhar 20 June (Jaswinder Azad)- Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya has taken another step towards community service by joining hands with Kanya Shiksha Prasar Sangathan (NGO) under extension activities. Kanya Shiksha Prasar Sangathan is an NGO dedicated to needy girls/female candidates. It aims to educate and empower the girls for their self dependence. This NGO is running six months courses under CDTP scheme (Community Development through Polytechnic). Three courses are being run for girls/females, i.e., Cosmetology, Cutting and Stitching (tailoring) and Computer Fundamentals. The centres of this NGO are at Adarsh Nagar, Raj Nagar and Chitti Pind in Jalandhar. Principal Prof. Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen said that the students of this NGO visit HMV twice a month and get exposure of state-of-art infrastructure. Our well qualified and experienced faculty train them with latest techniques. On the other hand, our faculty members also visit their centres as guest faculty to train the students. It is a step of out institution towards community service through student exchange and faculty exchange. It is the right of every girl/female to get education and skills. It is our endeavour to provide skills to them so that they can be empowered. The students of this NGO visit our campus to get the required skills. Our teachers of cosmetology, computer and Fashion designing department also visit there for their practical training. The aim of HMV is to empower every woman and make her self sufficient.
