Jalandhar 14 June (Jaswinder Azad)- Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, an institution committed to provide holistic education to the students, is going to start many new courses from the academic session 2018-19. Principal Prof. Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen told that the college is starting 7 new courses in the new academic session. These courses are M.A. Journalism and Mass Communication, M.Sc. Chemistry, Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports (BPES), B. Voc. Nutrition, Exercise and Health, B.Voc. Fashion Technology, Diploma in Cosmetology and Diploma in Computer Application. The eligibility criterion for M.A. Journalism and Mass Communication is 50% marks in bachelor’s degree in any faculty or 45% marks in the subject concerned. The college is having campus TV (HMV TV) and Radio (Radio Awaaz) for the practical exposure of the students. Moreover the college has tie-ups with media houses for the placements of the students. For M.Sc. Chemistry, the eligibility criterion is B.Sc. Degree with chemistry as one of the elective subject with atleast 50% marks. The college has best of the labs of chemistry for the practical work of the students. The students of chemistry of the college are already working on research projects under the guidance of their teachers. HMV is the only institution to offer three year degree course of Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports (BPES). The eligibility criterion for this course is +2 pass with 45% marks. The candidate seeking admission in this course must qualify the Physical fitness test and must have represented the District/School in any game/sports. For B.Voc. Nutrition, Health and Exercise and B.Voc. Fashion Technology, 45% marks in +2 is required. Both these courses are three year degree course with exit point facility after first and second year. The eligibility criterion for Diploma in Cosmetology and Diploma in Computer Application is 40% marks in +2. Principal Prof. Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen said that the college is starting these new courses as per the demand of the global market and industry. Every type of academic and infrastructural facility is being offered to the students and holistic growth of the student is made possible in the college.
