INSPIRE INTERNSHIP SCIENCE CAMP AT HMV from 23rd July

Jalandhar 21 July (Jaswinder Azad)- Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya Jalandhar is organizing its 5th INSPIRE Internship Science Camp from July 23rd-27th, 2018. “Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research (INSPIRE)” program is one of the innovative programs by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India for attraction of talent to science. The basic objective of INSPIRE programme is to communicate to the young students of the country the excitements and creativeness of science so that they can be motivated by study of science at an early stage. This will help to build the required critical human resource pool for strengthening and expanding the Science & Technology system in the country. This camp is fully sponsored by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. Every year eminent scientists from the top research and academic institutes from India and abroad interacts with about 50,000 top 1% performers in class 10th Board who are pursuing science at +1 level.  Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen told that this year camp is organized keeping in view the students of rural background in order to increase their interest in science.
In the fifth edition of our INSPIRE camp, more than 200 students from about 15 schools from various districts of Punjab including Jalandhar, Amritsar, Batala (Gurdaspur),  Patiala etc. will be attending this camp. The five day schedule of the Camp comprises lectures, interactive sessions, video lectures, hands- on practical sessions and workshops by the experts from various disciplines including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics. A science quiz competition and an Innovative idea writing Competition will be also conducted and the winners will be awarded. The eminent scientists from various academic institutes from India including Dr. A.S Aahluwalia, Dr. Daisy Batish and Dr. Aneesh Dua from Panjab University, Chandigarh;  Dr. Atul Khanna from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi; Dr. Sher Ali from Jamia Milia Islamia University, New Delhi; Dr. Pawan Kumar Sharma from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra;  Kunwar Rajiv (Limca Book record holder in memory) from DAV college; Dr. Arvind from Indian Institute of Science Education Research, Mohali; Dr. Ashish Arora, Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar etc. will be acting resource persons.
