Jalandhar 23 July (Jaswinder Azad)- Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya has added another feather in its cap by getting Kaushal Kendra from UGC. The scheme of Kaushal Kendra has been granted by UGC to one university and three colleges of the country and HMV is one of them. On this occasion, a special assembly session was organized by the college which was also the first assembly of the session. Secretary DAV CMC Mr. Arvind Ghai was the chief guest of the occasion. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen told the students that 5 new courses are started in HMV under Kaushal Kendra with a grant of Rs.5.00 Crores. These courses include M.Voc. in Web Technology and Multimedia, B.Voc. in Journalism and Media, B.Voc. in Mental Health and Counselling, B.Voc. in Beauty and Wellness and B.Voc. in Fashion Designing. Mr. Arvind Ghai congratulated all the persons and said that it is a matter of pride for DAV Managing Committee and HMV to get Kaushal Kendra. On this occasion, Dean Academics Dr. Kanwaldeep Kaur, Incharge Kaushal Kendra and UGC Coordinator Dr. Ekta Khosla, Advisor Mrs. Meenakshi Syal and Coordinators of all courses were honoured which were Dr. Ashmeen Kaur, Mrs. Meenu Kundra, Dr. Meena Sharma, Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dr. Ramnita Saini Sharda, Mrs. Rama Sharma, Mrs. Mukti Arora, Dr. Minakshi Duggal Mehta, Mrs. Bindu Banati Kohli and Mrs. Navneeta. Office Superintendent Mr. Amarjit Khanna, Mr. Ravi Kumar, Mr. Arvind Chandi, Mr. Veerinder Singh, supporting staff Mr. Ajay Kumar and Mr. Raj Kiran were also honoured. All the members of staff and students danced to the beats of Dhol and expressed their joy. Principal Prof. Dr.(Mrs.) Ajay Sareen told that Kaushal Kendra will be helpful in making women more empowered.
