HMV Unnat Bharat Team adopts a multidimensional development approach

Jalandhar 25 August (Gurkirat Singh)- Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized a unique programme under the banner of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan at Village Khambra.  Adopting a multidimensional approach the team joined hands with the Police Commissioner and the district administration to start various developmental and reformative programmes in the said village.  The UBA Coordinator of HMV team Dr. Ramnita Saini Sharda said that their aim is to work at the grass root level to ensure positive change in all the five points of UBA i.e. Education, Health, Hygiene, self-sufficiently and prospects of the village. The HMV UBA team organized a gathering at the Sr. Sec. School Khambra that included the Police Commissioner Mr. Parveen Sinha, his entire team of higher officials of Police, DAPO’s and NHRCS of the village Khambra, from the administration the team was joined by the ADC Development Mr. Jitendra Jorwal, BDO Mr. Mahesh, Panchayat Secretary Mr. Charanjeet Singh, the Principal and students of HMV.  The Unnat Bharat team of HMV conducted a household survey of some houses; the guests planted 100 trees that included Neem, Arjun, Triveni, Amla, Babool, and Swanjhana, in the end of the programme, they carried out a rally against the drug abuse which was lead by the Commissioner of Police Mr. Sinha, Mr. Jorwal, ADC, Prof. Dr. Ajay Sareen and Dr. Ramnita Saini Sharda. The students were carrying placards to create awareness about environmental protection, Tandrust Punjab and Nasha Mukt Punjab. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen of the college addressed the gathering and told the people that they will have to come forth and actively participated in the activities. The Police Commissioner, Mr. Praveen Sinha said that there are three points that have to be kept in mind while approaching the issue of drug problem, firstly we have to begin talking about the problem secondly we have to adopt an empathetic attitude towards the drug department and take him/her to the hospital and thirdly we have to prevent the falling of new persons take drug addiction. If we keep these three points in mind, we can fight the menace of drug addiction.  He also declared that DAPOs or NHRCS or the drug departments will not be questioned by the police. They will be acting as reformers and not as police informers. Mr. Sinha also announced that 200 students of HMV will participate in this programme along with police, DAPOS and NHRCS. Mr. Jitendra Jorwal applauded the efforts of Unnat Bharat team of HMV for coming forth and actively participating in the developmental progress.  Mr. Charanjeet Singh, Panchayat Secretary presented a vote of thanks to all the dignitaries.  Dr. Anjana Bhatia conducted the stage.  On this occasion, Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Mr. Sushil Kumar, Mrs. M. Syal, Dr. Minakshi Duggal, Miss Nandini Budhia, Mr. Vidhu Vohra, Mr. Lakhwinder Singh and Mr. Prince Jaswal also accompanied Unnat Bharat team of HMV.
