Jalandhar 4 August (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-the Heritage & Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar organized Saraswati Poojan in its traditional fervor. The chief guests, Sh. Santokh Singh Choudhary, Member Parliament and Mrs. Karamjeet Choudhary, Former DPI (Colleges), Chandigarh were accorded felicitations with tiny saplings on this occasion. The proceedings of the function were flagged off with an invocation to Maa Saraswati, the Goddess of learning to seek her blessings for the new entrants in the new session. The college Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi, welcoming the guests, read out a detailed report of the college achievements in diverse fields-curricular, co-curricular activities and sports at national as well as international level. She shared with immense pride that KMV with its lead role has taken a stride on the path of excellence with its Autonomous Status while introducing 17 new age programmes. Supported by Fist grant and also the grant of M.Voc Courses to KMV’s DDU Kaushal Kendra makes KMV a name to reckon with in the entire region. The occasion also witnessed two releases-a book on skill Development, a compilation of in-puts by many authors in skilling youth and ECA Newsline by the Department of Extra Curricular Activities. Meritorious students were honoured for bagging top positions in GNDU Exams.
Congratulating the achievers, Sh. Chaudhary expressed his deep sense of honour for KMV and maintained that the college of his constituency with its Autonomous and Star Status has earned the trust of generations and equipped them with the most potent tool named education for their empowerment. He motivated the young scholars to imbibe the best for their all-rounded development by quoting Mahatama Gandhi, ‘Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever’.
A formal vote of thanks was accorded by Sh. Alok Sondhi, general Secretary, KMV, Managing Committee. In his motivational message, he exhorted the scholars to imbibe five formost qualities for success like goal setting, Target achieving, Planning Passion, Positively. He expressed his gratitude to Hon’ble members of KMV Managing Committee. Dr. Satpal Gupta, Sh. Suresh Seth, Smt. Sushila Bhagat, Principal Dr. Naresh Dhiman for their valuable presence.
