Jalandhar 22 August (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya-the Autonomous and Heritage Institution, Jalandhar, organized a 3-day International Workshop on the topic of Consciousness Based Vedic Education: Developing Total Brain functioning through Transcendental Meditation. Throwing light on the event Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Principal, KMV averred that this International Workshop is in collaboration with Maharishi Vedic University, Malta and has been sponsored by confederation of Education Excellence (CEE). The trainers for the workshop were Mr. Gregory Lyons, UK and Ms. Percilla Herrera, USA. Mr. Gregory Lyons is presently the certified teacher in Transcendental Meditation and has been practicing for the past 20 years. The other eminent resource person Ms. Percilla Herrera is presently the Director, Centre for health and wellness at the David Lynch Foundation and has developed an innovative consciousness based women’s students curriculum. During the Inaugural session Mr. Gregory Lyons, Ms. Percilla and Mr. Vishal from confederation of Education Excellence interacted with the students after sharing with them the basic information of transcendental meditation. They also made presentations to make students further comprehend the topic. KMV Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi also addressed the students and felt that such workshops are a must for all students as these help students to meditate and get aligned with themselves. She lauded Mr. Vishal from CEE for having whole heartedly contributed to the collaborative venture. She also praised CEE in not a few words for having taken this remarkable initiative which is the need of the our. She was very appreciative of Dr. Neeraj Sharma, HOD Sanskrit for having organized this workshop for the benefit of students. She was also appreciative of Dept. of Student Welfare for organizing this international workshop along with the Department of Sanskrit and Vedic Research Centre. Ms. Seema Jain, HOD English, Dr. Madhumeet, Dean student Welfare, Dr. Vinod Kalra, Dr. Gurjot, Dr. Neelam and Mrs. Manpreet were present for the occasion.
