Jalandhar 28 August (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage and Autonomous Institution, Jalandhar organized an extension lecture on ‘Nanotechnology –a Science Beyond Barrier with implecations’ under DBT Star College Scheme by leading scientist in USA, Dr. Mandeep Singh Bakshi, Natural & Applied Sciences, University of Winconsin, Green Bay, USA. He enlightened the students about Nanotechnology and its applications in various fields like Biomedicine, Water Purification, Air Purification and Drug Delivery to name a few. Dr. Bakshi also briefed students about the effect of Nanotechnology on the human life and also dicussed the various methods of preparation of Nanoparticals like Conventional and Hydrothermal method. He highlighted how nanotechnology is used these days to cure various diseases like Parkinson, Alzheimer, Cancer and how Nanotechnology is also contributing towards the sustainable development of the environment. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi extended her gratitude to the resource person Dr. M.S. Bakshi and also appreciated the endeavour taken by the department of chemistry.
