‘Swachta Pakhwara’ was organized at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar

Jalandhar 30 August (Gurkirat Singh)- Under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan of Govt. of India, ‘Swachta Pakhwara’ was organized at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar by Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) .The event was marked by Tree Plantation, Installation of Dustbin in the college campus and a seminar on the importance of cleanliness environment. Mr. Rakesh Kumar Saroj, Chief  Area Manager (IOC), Miss Neha Thapa, Manager IOC, Ms. Urvashi, Assistant Manager IOC and Mr. Munish Gupta  Senior comprised the members of the manager, IOC team from IOC which visited the college on the occasion. They were welcomed by Sardarni Balbir Kaur, President Governing Council, Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, Principal of College and Dr. Manohar Singh, Head, Dept. of Computer Science & IT of the College. Speaking on the occasion, Sardarni. Balbir Kaur encouraged the students to make sure that their surroundings remain clean and green so that they can lead a healthy life. Principal Dr. G.S. Samra welcomed the initiative of IOC and assured that the college always participate whole-heartedly in such initiatives later, a seminar on the issue was presented by Dr. Jaswinder Kaur form the Dept. of Environmental studies of the College on the occasion, Mr. Rakesh Kumar Saroj also addressed the students. He said that their annual event of IOC is aimed at encouraging the residents to follow the path of Mahatma Gandhi and follow a health and swachh lifestyle. Dr. Manohar Signh, HOD, Dept. of CS&IT presented note of thanks. Prof. Karamjit Kaur and Prof. Jaspreet Kaur Bains conducted the stage. The faculty members and students of various departments of the college were present on the occasion.
