Jalandhar 21 August (Bureau)- In keeping with the democratic spirit, Lyallpur khalsa college for women, jalandhar held annual student council elections on 21 august 2015. All candidates filed a nominating form, signed by two teachers by 18 august. The candidates were given time to campaign on 20 august after 12 pm. Voting started on 21 august 2015 at 9 am and stopped at 12 pm. Result was declared at 12.30 pm. The students of the college enthusiastically participated in the elections. Out of 1600 students 1500 students voted. Priya M.Com was unanimously elected college President. Priya B.Sc IT 5th sem was elected head girl Computer Science. Isha B.Com 5th sem was elected head girl Commerce. Dimple B.A. 5th sem was elected head girl Arts. College principal Dr Kuldeep Kaur Dhaliwal congratulated the winners and appreciated the efforts of staff and students which resulted in peaceful elections.
