Fifth Day of Faculty Development Programme at HMV

Today’s demand tomorrow’s future - Nanotechnology
Jalandhar 29 April (Bureau)- Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya is organizing Faculty Development programme sponsored by Deptt. of Biotechnology, Govt. of India.  On the fifth day of Faculty Development Programme, the resource person was Dr. S.P.Singh, from Deptt. of Human Science, Punjabi University, Patiala.  Mrs. Meenakshi Syal, Coordinator, FDP, Convener of FDP Dr. Ekta Khosla and Organizing Secretary Dr. Meena Sharma gave floral welcome to the resource person.
Dr. S.P. Singh delivered his lecture on the topic ‘Body image, self esteem and behaviour’.  He said that body image and self esteem directly influence one another.  He explained the terms BMI and scale of temperament.  He said that we can study the behaviour of a person from his physique also. The topic of his second session was Human Evolutionary adaptations. In this session he explained evolution from nomadic life to agricultural revolution. He also explained the role of UV radiations in synthesizing Vitamin D.
In the next session, Dr. Pragnesh Dave from the department of Chemistry of K.S.K.V.U., Bhuj was the resource person. His topic was Introduction and History of Nanoscience.  He told about different approaches of nanomaterials and their preparation. He discussed the SWOT analysis of nanotechnology. He said that nanotechnology is applicable in the field of medicines, environment and defence. Principal Prof. Dr. Mrs. Ajay Sareen appreciated the efforts of FDP organizers for such an innovative programme.
