Chandigarh 4 June (Jaswinder Azad)- Web portal ofNHRD (National Human Resource Development) Chandigarh Chapterwas launched by Punjab and Haryana Governor, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, at Hotel Mountview, Sec-10. The event was presided over byHon’ble Speaker of Punjab Legislative Assembly, Dr. Charanjit Singh Atwal along with Hon’ble Minister for Industries & Commerce, Technical Education & Industrial Training, Govt. of Punjab, Madan Mohan Mittal.
On this occasion, Chandigarh Tourism Club was also re-launched to promote Tourism, Hospitality, Aviation, and Media-Entertainment related activities of Service Industry in Tri-city. A roadmap for tri-city tourism growth alongwith anannual calendar describing Chandigarh events and activities was also released by the dignitaries.Mr. M P Singh (IAS, Principal Secy. to Hon’ble Governor Punjab), Mr. Anurag Agarwal (IAS, Home Secy. UT Chandigarh), Dr. Ajayita Chanana (President, CWMTS) also made their presence at the event.
Governor of Punjab & Administrator U.T., Chandigarh while launching the web portal said that thesekind of efforts arepivotal and significantto boost new avenues of employmentand entrepreneurship for the youth of tri-city.He appreciated the initiatives taken up by NHRD to contribute in economic growth of the region.
Expressing his concerns about increasing competitive spirit among tri-city youth, Mr. Atwal said that we need to focus more on new ventures to generateemployment opportunities for vibrant youth. He said that Punjab govt. will provide support to NHRD.
President NHRD (Chandigarh Chapter), Dr. Gulshan Sharma, said that NHRD and Chandigarh Tourism Club is all set to promote the field of education, vocational training and research in tri-city. He said that Chandigarh Tourism Club & NHRD will be organizing various programs in the times to come so that number of tourists can be attracted towards tri-city.
People who are contributing in the field of hotels, restaurants, travel trade, airlines, retail, super specialty hospital, health and media & entertainment for tri-city tourism growth were recognised by the Governor for their valuable contribution.The tri-city HR summit provided a unique platform amongst HR heads and other people to deliberate on the road ahead for developing youth and making them ready for this fast developing business society.
