Celebration of Independence Day in Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar

Jalandhar 12 August (Jaswinder Azad)- Lyallpur Khalsa College, Celebrated Independence Day which was organized College N.C.C. Department (Army and Air Wing) and Social Sensitization Club various activities on the theme of patriotism were conducted to mark the occasion. Student participated in Rangoli competition and poster making in large number. The NCC cadets gave the March Past and saluted the Principal. A rally was also organized which marched through the campus to encourage students and fill them up with patriotic fervour. The oath was also taken by the staff members, NCC Cadets and the students to make India prosperous and clean under the mission of “Swach Bharat Abhiyan Pakhwada programme.
Addressing the present, the College Principal Dr. GS Samra said that freedom was a highly valuable thing and it was imperative that it be protected at all costs, adding that social evils like communalism, illiteracy and corruption were a threat to the freedom of the country. He advised the students to fight against these evils so that the country could be free in real sense. The event witnessed participation of a large number of students and staff members. Major J.S. Rana, Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu, Prof. Manpreet Lehal, Prof. Amita Shahid Convener Social Sensitization Club, staff members and students were also present on this occasion.
