Jalandhar 26 August (Jaswinder Azad)- Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar earned yet another laurel in the field of Sports when College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra got appointed as the Head of the ‘Sports Committee for Men’ by Guru Nanak Dev University. This one year appointment was announced during the Annual General Meeting of the Executive held on 26th August 2016. It is worth mentioning that prior to this latest achievement, the College has already won the prestigious Sardar Teja Singh Samundari Overall General Championship Sports Trophy of Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar for the record 14th time with a total of 22440 points. The college has also produced various National and International level sportsmen over the years that have attained great success in their respective fields of operation.
Speaking on this occasion, Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra attributed this moment to Dr. Ajaib Singh Brar, Vice-Chancellor Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and also appreciated the encouragement provided by Sardarni Balbir Kaur President Governing Council, which is always a key factor behind such landmark successes for sports and sportsmen associated with the institution. The staff and sports personalities of the college congratulated Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra on this achievement.
