Jalandhar 24 September (Jaswinder Azad)- In reverence of our National Language Hindi, Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar celebrated Hindi Diwas on 24th September 2016. On this occasion, Manoj Sabharwaj, Alumni of the College and renowned script writer of eminent TV Shows like Comedy Nights with Kapil, Comedy Nights Bachao, Khatro Ke Khiladi etc. graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He shared his experience that he could touch the pinnacles of glory because of the platform provided by Apeejay only. He said he was unable to speak Hindi when he came to Apeejay, but this college turned his life and made him able to become a successful writer.
To promote Hindi, Dr. Anjana Kumari, Head, Department of Hindi organized various competitions like Essay Writing, Poster Making and Poetry Recitation to polish the creative skills of the students. Not only students, but faculty members; Mr. Sandeep Singh, Ms. Anuradha, Ms. Lovepreet Kaur and Mr. Rohit Chatrath won the hearts of many with their magnetic words.
Principal Dr. Sucharita expressed her gratitude to Manoj Sabharwal for his benign presence. She said as an Indian, it becomes our first duty to pay regards to our national language Hindi and celebrations like this play a vital role in developing love for the nation in hearts of youngsters. She also commended Dr. Anjana Kumari for conducting such enlightening programmes every year to pay tribute to Hindi.
