Jalandhar 22 September (Jaswinder Azad)- P.G. Department of Biotechnology, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar organised a “Lecture Series in Biotechnology” sponsored by DBT, Govt. of India. In this series, eminent resource person Dr. Gurvinder Singh Kocher Senior Microbiologist, PAU, Ludhiana delivered a talk on “Diversity and Applications of Microorganisms”. He discussed the beneficial and detrimental effects of microbes in detail. He emphasized the different aspects of microbial diversity. The second talk was delivered by Dr. Inderjeet Kaur, Assistant Professor, P.G. Department of Biotechnology, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar on “Bioreactor:- Design, functions and Fermentation innovations”. She discussed the various designs of bioreactor along with their functions. She elaborated her talk by giving different fermentation methods used in bioprocess technology. Students of various schools and colleges of Jalandhar city participated in this event. The faculty from different academic institutions also attended this lecture series. On this occasion, worthy Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra preside the function with his opening remarks. Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra Principal congratulated the student and reiterated the commitment of the college to quality education and productive research. Dr. Arun Dev Sharma, Coordinator cum Head Department Biotechnology welcomed the resource person and participants. Lecture manual was released by resource person, Principal & Head Department of Biotechnology. The President, Governing Council Sardarni Balbir Kaur congratulate & appreciated the efforts made by faculty of Biotechnology Department.
