Jalandhar 21 September (Jaswinder Azad)- A one day workshop on "Experimental Physics" was organized by Physics Deptt. of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Viayalaya, Jalandhar in collaboration with Indian Association of Physics Teachers Regional Council-2. On this occasion, Dr. N.P. Saini, Head Physics Deptt., GNDU Amritsar was the Chief Guest, Dr. Major Singh (President, IAPT RC-2) was guest of honour and National Awardees in Physics Dr. Jaswinder Singh & Dr. Prem Singh were the resource persons. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen welcomed the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and Resource Persons and encouraged the students to give their 100% contribution to whatever we do to have a successful life. She motivated the students to be a learner throughout their life. She congratulated Physics Deptt. for organizing the workshop coordinator of the workshop and Dean Academics Dr. Meenakshi Syal briefed the students about the workshop. There were two simultaneous sessions of the workshop. Chief Guest Dr. N.P. Singh said that the aim of the workshop is to teach the students how to learn science. He said that question is the most important way of understanding a problem.
Mr. Prem Singh demonstrated transformation of energy from denser to rarer medium, concept of musical instruments, concept of potential energy & work done. National Awardee Mr. Jaswinder Singh demonstrated his Science & Mathematics is mother of all sciences. He showed different methods to calculate addition & multiplication of big numbers. He made maths & science very enjoyable.
This workshop was attended by more than 300 students of +2 grade. 25 teachers from other schools and colleges were also present. The students from schools of Gurdaspur, Jalandhar, Batala, Banga, Moga and Nawanshehar participated in the workshop. Workshop Coordinator Mrs. Meenakshi Syal thanked all the guests. Stage was conducted by Dr. Anjana Bhatia. On this occasion, Mrs. Saloni, Mrs. Geeta, Ms. Ravneet, Preeti and Shilpa were also present.
