Jalandhar 15 October (Jaswinder Azad)- At Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage Institution, Jalandhar under DBT Star College Scheme an extension lecture on “Beautiful Journey of Organic Chemistry from molecules to Supramolecules’ was organized by the Department of Chemistry. The resource person for the same was Dr. Vandana Sharma, Asstt. Prof. Department of Chemistry, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. All the students of undergraduate classes attended the lecture. The resource person enlightened the students about history of organic chemistry in reference to major innovations by eminent scientists and the hardship they encountered during their research. She further added that the comforts which we are enjoying today are the outcome of the hardwork and sincere efforts by the scientists. She also talked at length about supramolecules their preparation and application in day to day life of man. Characterization and application of nanoparticles was also elaborated on. The interesting presentation by the erudite speaker kept the audience spelled bound. Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi thanked the resource person for having shared valuable knowledge with the students. She observed that such endeavours were a regular feature in the curriculum at KMV.
