Flag Folding led the closing of the four day event
Jalandhar 8 November (Jaswinder Azad)- It is a matter of great pride and honour to boast the sportsman spirit among the students, CT Public School has been entrusted with the responsibility of hosting CBSE Cluster Basketball Tournament which included participation of more than 3000 students from different 80 CBSE affiliated schools of Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir. The students are participating in Under-19 (Girls & Boys) category from different districts of Punjab including Moga, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ludhiana, Gurdaspur, Kapurthala, Ferozepur, Faridkot, Nawanshehar and others. The opening ceremony of the meet witnessed the enlightening presence of S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) and Ms. Suman Rana (Principal, CT Public School).
The first match under Boys Category was played between Cambridge International School Jalandhar and Path Seeker (Beas), with the margin of 25-6 Cambridge International School won the match. The second match was between Brightland Public School, Amritsar and Woodstock Public School, Batala while the third match was between DAV Public School, Ludhiana and K.C. Public School, Jammu. The matches were won by Woodstock Public School, Batala with 23-2 and DAV Public School, Ludhiana with 28-0. The fourth match was won by CT Public School from EMMAR School, Bhogpur with 42-8 points.
The first match under Girls Category was played between West Point Public School, Kotkapura and Saffron City Public School, with the margin of 21-8 West Point Public School, Kotkapura won the match. The second match was between BVB Public School, Amritsar and Woodstock Public School, Batala while the third match was between Cambridge International School and Path Seeker (Beas). The matches were won by BVB Public School, Amritsar with 25-14 and Path Seeker (Beas) with 29-8.
Ms. Suman Rana (Principal, CT Public School) thanked the CBSE observer, guests, coaches and athletes from various parts of Punjab. The students of CT Public School presented glittering performances including prayer, motivational song, group song and dance performances in the event.
S. Charanjit Singh Channi, Chiarman, CT Group of Institutions thanked the CBSE for honoring CT Public School with great pride and entrusted with the responsibility of hosting CBSE Cluster Basketball Tournament which includes the participation of more than 3000 students. While appreciating the performance of students, he said, "The sports activities are losing their significance as the electronic goods are creeping into society due to globalization and it is the responsibility of the young generation to restore it.
