Philatelic Exhibition, JALPEX-2016 to be start

Pre Independence Stamps will be exhibited by philatelist
Jalandhar 16 November (Jaswinder Azad)- 34th Distt. Level Philatelic Exhibition, JALPEX-2016 is going to be organized by Jalandhar Postal Division from 17th November to 18th November 2016 at Virsa Vihar, Civil Lines Road, Near Jalandhar City HO, Jalandhar.
Addressing a press conference here, Sh. Mohd. Hanif , SSPOs Jalandhar informed that there will be different categories of the frames to be displayed in exhibition including  Invitation class , Competition class, School frames, Youth Group. Besides that In this exhibition  rare stamps like Mahatama Gandhi, Tiranga Jhanda, Pre Independence Stamps and Post Independence Stamps  will be exhibited by philatelist. He also said that India Post and Philatelic Club Jalandhar is paying homage to our soldiers by printing logo of War memorial on its Poster and Prospectus of Jalpex 2016, which will be the  salute to the supreme  sacrifices for the welfare of the humanity and the nation.
He also said that beautiful pictures of RIO Olympics 2016, Yoga Pranayam, Kansa-Nataraj and Tadoba-Andhari National Park have also been printed on the Poster and the Prospectus. There will be four themes in the exhibition- JAI JAWAN JAI KISAN, AGRICULTURE, SAVE WATER, WOMEN EMPOWERMENT. Four special covers will be released during the exhibition on lovely Professional University ,Phagwara, Seth Hukum Chand S.D. Sr. School, Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya and Beti bacho Beti Padho.
During the event two competitions- Drawing & Painting Competition on 17 November and Quiz Competition on 18 November for students will also be conducted. Around 80 frames of philatelists will be displayed during the event. Students of colleges and schools will participate in the events by displaying their collections of stamps and other philatelic material. The exhibition timings will be 10AM to 5 PM on both days, for which there will be no entry fee to visit of exhibition for general public. Sh. N.K. Khera ,Secretary Philatelic club and other representatives of Post office department were also present on the occasion.
