Jalandhar 17 January (Jaswinder Azad)- At Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- The Heritage Institution, Jalandhar encouraging research and innovation is an integral routine. The outcome is seen in the output of the faculty which frequently gets research project sanctioned from the University Grants Commission. This time UGC has granted two minor projects to the faculty of KMV, one has been granted to Dr. Sangeeta Prashar (Asst. Prof. in Department of Physics) and the other to Dr. Rupika Sharma (Asst. Prof. in Hindi). Dr. Sangeeta in her research with the help of PVC/ Polylene electric and magnetic properties will work in the direction of inventing sensors for the domestic LPG Cylinder, these sensors will have the provision of an auto-off in case of gas leakage from the cylinder and will consequently prevent fatal accidents related to domestic LPG gas cylinder leakages. A grant of Rupees 3 Lakh has been sanctioned by the UGC for the same. Dr. Rupika Sharma has been granted Rs. 1 lack 80 Thousand for research on ‘Journalism in Hindi in Punjab- the various stages’. It is worth mentioning that journalism in Hindi has played a prominent role in increasing the popularity of Hindi Language & Literature in Punjab. Exploring the conditions of Journalism in Hindi in Punjab before and after Independence, changes and progress and important stages alongwith its impact on society at large will be the key-thrust area of Dr. Rupika Sharma. Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated both the faculty members & wished them great success in their future endeavours.
