Jalandhar 1 February (Gurkirat Singh)- Basant Panchami the festival marking the onset of the spring season was celebrated with much fanfare and fervor in the premises of the Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar. Inaugurating the kite-flying competition in the sprawling grounds of the college, Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra told the students that nothing is permanent in this universe and the festival of Basant teaches us the lesson of change and continuity. Yellow color was the flavor of the day on this colorful occasion. There was a mass euphoria among the students who in joyful mood made loud shrieks and welcomed the dawn of spring. Gracing this occasion, Registrar Prof. Jasreen Kaur, Dr. Suman Chopra, Dr. Kulwant Singh Sandhu, Dr. Simarnjeet Singh Bains, Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Dr. Karanbir Singh and others were also present.
