5th R.C. Chopra Memorial National Moot Court Competition organized by St. Soldier Law College

Jalandhar 18 March (Jaswinder Azad)- 5th R.C. Chopra Memorial National Moot Court Competition organized by St. Soldier Law College Today came to a close. 46 teams from 14 states and UTs of Delhi and Chandigarh competed among themselves to bag the Winner Trophy. Today the semifinals and the final of the competition were held. Hon’ble Mr. Justice Paramjeet Singh Dhaliwal presided over the bench for hearing in the final round. Both the teams were fully prepared and argued their cases very forcefully and completely in the manner prescribed for the High Courtpractioners. An interested audience was there to witness the proceedings and all of them were very much impressed.
On the basis of relevant law relied upon analysis of facts, communication skills, way of presentation and arguments, the presiding judge declared the team of University Institute of Legal Studies, Punjab of as the Winner team. Team of Ideal Institute of Management and Technology (School of Law), Delhiwas adjudged as the Runner up team. In the valedictory session Hon’ble Justice Dhaliwal gave the trophies to the winning and runner up teamsalongwith the cash prize. In addition a trophy of coming-up team was given to Ms.Sugandha, PrerenaVerma, SakshiMohgaonkarfrom the team of  Hidayatullah National Law University, M.P was adjudged as the best mooter and Mr. Shivam Sharma from Punjab University team as the best researcher. Both of them were also given cash prizes and trophies by the Chief GuestalongwithSh. Anil Chopra Chairman, Mrs .Sangeeta Chopra, Vice Chairperson and Mr. Prince Chopra Pro Vice Chairperson of St. Soldier Group. Dr. S.C. Sharma,   Director of the College welcomed the Chief Guest and the guests. Vote of Thanks was presented by Prof Manhar Arora Managing Director. Dr. Veena Dada Campus Director and the Principal from various St. Soldier Colleges were present in the function.
Justice P.S. Dhaliwal congratulated the winning teams and students. He appreciated the initiative of St. Soldier Law College for organizing the competition. He exhorted the students to work hard for being successful in life. There is no dearth of opportunities, he said. In a cheerful mood the teams started departing to their places with a desire to come again next year.
