Jalandhar 5 March (Jaswinder Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar’s premises sparkled with ravishing divas moving their feet on the ramp in the most dazzling Fashion Show ‘Lavanya 2017’. Apeejay’s International Design Week proved to be a milestone in the careers of budding designers whose creativity was explored and exhibited on stage by the aspiring models of the College. Faculty members of the College also rocked the show by walking on the ramp in one of the rounds. The show was taken away with the glorious applaud when the resource persons from Netherlands cat walked in Indian attire on Punjabi beats.
Dr. Shruti Shukla, Deputy Director, State Council of Educational Research Training, Punjab and Mrs. Geetanjali Sagar Yadav IRS, Assistant Commissioner, Income Tax, Jalandhar illumined the occasion with their benign presence. Mr. Rene Pen-in-Burg and his team of professionals from Netherlands interacted with more than 200 students of the college in design week and worked together on the theme ‘Living in a Smart City’. Through this cross-cultural exchange students learnt to get rid of Traffic, Pollution, Sanitation problems etc. In Lavanya 2017, Mr. Nazar Abbas, Content Producer, Freshly Ground, Mr. Dilpreet Virk, Ramp Choreographer, Modeling Coach and Ms. Tanvi Mogla judged the fierce show and honoured the best designers.
Principal Dr. Sucharita felt elated at the fruitful conclusion of the design week and said the college is committed to revive the dying arts and crafts; and the exquisite fashion show Lavanya is also dedicated towards the promotion of our rich Indian Textiles infused with modernity through the creativity of young designers.
