Lyallpur Khalsa College today formally launched ECO NAVIGATORS’ CLUB

Jalandhar 10 April (Jaswinder Azad)- Responding to the emergent need for a planned collective effort to arrest the environment degradation, Lyallpur Khalsa College today formally launched ECO NAVIGATORS’ CLUB. The aim of this club is to bring students in direct contact with the environment problems facing the society they live ion and make them think of solutions. Utilishing the unique position of the energetic youth as conduits for awarness in the society at large, the club hopes to inculcate amongst the masses a fervour to protect the environment as well as the habit of keeping their environment clean. CEO of Ajit group of publications, reputed journalist and a nature enthusiast, Ms. Sarvinder Kaur was the chief guest of the day. She guided the students with her insights on how to better the sustainable practices and bring about a change in the current environment problems. She also planted ‘Amaltas’ tree in the college ground to mark the occasion. Around 80 volunteers from the college took a pledge affirming their commitment to make our planet a better place to live in. It is noteworthy that the club will be action- oriented and 100% volunteer based where in the youth of the college will manage activities like gardening, composting, cleaning activities and recycling work etc themselves. On the occasion Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra spoke about the unity of all life on earth and the obligation of human beings to care for them. Prof. Simranjit Singh Bains, the convenor of the club motivated the students to be pro active in their attitude towards their surroundings. His advice to the students was to not only work on the development of their own personalities but to also work for the large humanity and environment. On the occasion, Prof. Arunjit Kaur HOD Chemistry, Prof. Jaspal Singh HOD Physical Education, Prof. Suman Chopra HOD history, Prof. Tarsem Singh, Prof. Ajit Singh, Prof. Manpreet Singh, Prof. Geetanjali, Prof. Ratnakar Mann, Prof. Vikram Kahlon, Prof. Lakhwinder Singh, Prof. Sukhdev Singh Nagra were also present.
