Jalandhar 13 April (Gurkirat Singh)- Vaisakhi day was celebrated with much fanfare at Basti Sheikh 6th Patshahi Gurdwara, Jalandhar. On this holy occasion Principal of Lyallpur Khalsa College was honoured for his service to the community and region. Among those who did this honour were President of the Gurudwara, Sardar Beant Singh Sarhadi, Member Sardar Harjit Singh Kalra, Sardar Jaswinder Singh Makkar, Sardar Davinder Singh. Dr. Samra is known for his instrumental role he has played in sweeping changes he had brought in the college administration that has brought laurels for college in academics co-curricular activities and sports. Speaking on the occasion Dr. Samra thanked the present gathering and recalled the historical significance of the day when in 1699 The Khalsa Panth was established. He added a true sikh is one who is always committed to the welfare of the others. The teaching and non teaching staff of the college congratulated him for his achievement.
