Routine extension lectures by renowned experts is a regular feature with every Dept. . The P.G.Dept. of Commerce & Business Administration in an endeavour to acquaint the students with the latest developments in the field of banking and finance organized an extension lecture on Capital Market. Mr.Jatinder Kumar, Faculty NISM ( on deputation from SEBI), Mumbai was the resource person for the event. A name to reckon with in the field of capital market, Mr.Kumar spoke extensively on the various aspects of the capital market. He highlighted the importance of investment in various financial products including mutual funds. Elaborating on the difference between money and capital market with various examples of instruments of money and capital market, he also explained the difference between capital market and banking as avenues and investments highlighting the role of RBI and SEBI in regulating the sectors. Mr. Kumar said that SEBI played an important role in ensuring investor protection through various regulations and further explained the differences between money laundering and black money. The students in the interactive session quizzed him regarding the various career prospects in the Capital Market. Representing NISM – An educational institute of SEBI, Mr.Kumar also briefed about the role of NISM in promoting financial awareness amongst the masses through a variety of programmes. The erudite scholar left his audience much richer in respects of knowledge and information. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the P.G.Dept. of Business Administration and Commerce for having organized a lecture on such a useful topic. She also thanked Mr.Kumar from NISM Mumbai profusely for having spared his valuable time for the students.
