Day two of FDP in HMV

Jalandhar 22 May (Jaswinder Azad)- In the forenoon session on the second day of Faculty Development Programme on Recent Trends & Advancements in Research in the Field of Languages and Social Sciences conducted in Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya.  A Havan Yajna was performed in the Yajnashala for the participants.  The resource person was Swami Suryadev Ji, Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen welcomed him.  Swami Suryadev Ji shed light on the importance of Sanskrit language which is the mother of all languages.  He explained the importance of Havan.  Havan Yajna, according to him, is all inclusive term covering all the activities of mankind and the most significance benefit of Havan is it purifies the environment.  Before that Mrs. Sunita Dhawan prayed to the Almighty for peace, health, and prosperity of the whole world.
The next speaker of the session was Dr. Jaspal K. Deol, Head of the department of Theatre and Television, Punjabi University, Patiala.  She showed the audience a historical documentary, Kamagata Maru, 1914.  She invited questions from the audience and in her response said she was thankful to the western world, especially Canadian government, for they still kept our historical record in their archives.  She also explained the technicalities of how the documentary was shot.  She also persuaded the teacher community to spread the authentic knowledge of history among their students.
In the afternoon session, Sh. Suresh Seth presented his views on ‘Hindi Literature and Changing Scenario’ in 21st Century through his poems.  He also said contemporary writers force their readers to laugh by the use of their piercing language.  On this occasion, Convener Mrs. Mamta, HOD English, Mrs. Kawanljit, HOD Punjabi, Mrs. Kranti Wadhawa, Mrs. Kuljit Kaur, Mrs. Veena Arora, Mrs. Ramnita Saini Sharda, Dr. Jyoti Gogia, HOD Hindi were also present.
