Jalandhar 22 June (Jaswinder Azad)- Contrary to general perceptions in the market, the opportunities for technical graduates and post graduates are on a huge rise, as is demonstrated by this year’s placement statistics of St. Soldier Group of Institutions, Jalandhar. There has been a phenomenal increase of 54.2% in the number of companies visiting the campus and an increase of 71% in the average salary package. A total of 147 companies visited various campuses of St. Soldier Group of Institutions in the academic year 2016-17 and offered 800+ jobs to the students. The salary packages ranged from 1.8 to 4.75 Lacs per annum. These students would be joining the companies post completion of their academic year in July/August 2017. Some of the companies participating in the campus placement include Tech Mahindra, Indusind Bank, Oppo Mobile, Just Dial, Sarover Portico, Interglobe Technologies, Axis Bank, Bandhan Bank, Cardiolabs, Policybazar, Firstsource, Geojit Paribus, Adecco, ICC, Clicklabs, RAPS Infotech, ICICI, eClerix, Ramada Hotel, Religare, Healthkart, IDS Infotech and many more. There were students who were able to grab multiple offer letters from different companies. The main criteria for these students to make a choice between these offers were peer feedback in addition to the salary package.
Fresher hiring is normally linked to current manpower requirements in a company as well as the future hiring projections. The growth in jobs and packages is a testimony to the fact that economy is on the right track and corporate have a very positive outlook for the times to come.
