Jalandhar 24 July (Gurkirat Singh)- The Orientation Programme for the first year Under Graduate and Post Graduate students of CT Group of Institutions for the academic year 2017-18 was organized at its Shahpur Campus on Monday. Nearly 3000 newly admitted students attended the orientation programme In the presence of S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group), Mr. Manbir Singh (Managing Director, CT Group), Dr. G.S. Kalra (Campus Director) and other members of the management, faculty and staff. In an interactive session, the students were introduced, in batches from the college facilities, Policies and Procedures, E-Governance facilities, placement drives to On-line resources, scholarship schemes, departmental presentation, events, visits etc by Mr. Navdeep Thind (Dean, Academics & Student Affairs). Dr. G.S. Kalra (Campus Director) in his welcome speech congratulated all the new admitted students and told them the importance of smart work, focus and consistent hard work for success in professional life. Talking about the vision of the CT Group of Institutions, he said that role of this academic institutions is not to market degrees but to provide opportunity to the students to gain theoretical and practical knowledge and make them responsible citizens of the country. “Education should enable the students to make conscious decisions of their life and be responsible about their decisions”, he said. S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chairman, CT Group of Institutions) urged the students to not get constrained by the lack of resources to achieve the goals in one’s life. “Success can be achieved only through dedication and perseverance. Ninety percent of the successful people are those who rose through the challenges and achieved their destination”, he said. He also encouraged young minds to explore and educate themselves with new ideas instead of just mugging up the theory. Always try to come first, be innovative and to avoid awkwardness or hesitation in order to achieve success in life.
