1500 SECURITY PERSONNEL TO KEEP VIGIL DURING SRI SIDH BABA SODAL MELA IN CITY

•    ADC PRESIDES OVER A MEETING TO REVIEW THE ARRANGEMENTS
Jalandhar 28 August (Jaswinder Azad)- More than 1500 security personnel would be deployed round the clock during the famous Sri Sidh Baba Sodal Mela scheduled to be held on 5th of next month. A decision to this effect was taken during a meeting presided by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Mr. Gurmeet Singh to review the arrangements regarding the world renowned  fair slated to be held in the city next month. It was decided in the meeting that keeping in view the heavy influx of the pilgrims in this sacred place the Police department would make elaborate security arrangements. Besides deployment of 1500 security personnel, CCTV cameras would be installed around the mela premises to keep a strict vigil over the visitors and a control room would be set up in Mela premises.
Dwelling on another point, the ADC said that fool proof arrangements would be made for traffic diversion, parking of vehicles, security arrangements and other facilities during the Mela, so that pilgrims do not face any sort of problem.  He asked every concerned officer to make sure that their staff performs the duty diligently for smooth conduct of this world famous Mela.  Mr. Gurmeet Singh said that every officer / official must ensure that people participate in this great mela with full gaiety and enthusiasm.
The ADC said that the Municipal Corporation Jalandhar should ensure proper cleanliness of the roads leading to the venue, sprinkle water on roads and ensure temporary urinal and mobile toilets for the pilgrims coming to pay homage at this holy shrine. Likewise, he asked the Health department to depute Medical teams during the fair along with medicines and Ambulances to facilitate the people. Mr. Gurmeet Singh also asked the PSPCL to evolve a mechanism for supplying uninterrupted power to the holy Shrine during the Mela days.
The ADC was accompanied by General Assistant to Deputy Commissioner Dr. BS Dhillon, Sub Divisional Magistrate and Mela incharge Mr. Rajeev Verma and Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh.
On the occasion Secretary of Sri Sidh Baba Sodal Trust Mr. Surinder Chadha, Trustee Mr. Avinash Chadha, Mr. Vipan Chadha Babbi, Mr. Agya Pal Chadha, Mr. Pankaj Chadha, Mr. Shyam Chadha, Mr. Varinder Chadha, Mr. Satnam Singh Bitta, Mr. Ashwani Sharma Teetu, Mr. Amrit Khosla, Mr. Raj Kumar Raju and others were also present.
