Jalandhar 3 August (Jaswinder Azad)- Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” is a national level campaign run by the Indian Government to create awareness of cleanliness and hygiene amongst people. As per guidelines received from the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, the NSS unit Hindu kanya College carried out Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by celebrating “Swachh Bharat Pakhwada” between 1st August to 15th August, 2017. The event started off on 3 August by a pledge ceremony by Head Punjabi Department Ms Suresh Sharma.The staff and students held a pledge that the vigilance about cleanliness will start from the family, the neighborhood, and the work place. To keep India clean and devote 100 hours during every year and to motivate 100 more people to take this pledge. College Principal Dr Archna Garg appreciated the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
