Students given social messages on issues like Female Foeticide, Terrorism, Water Conservation, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Right to Education and others.
Jalandhar 4 September (Jaswinder Azad)- It is impossible for humanity to progress if we have nothing from the past preserved. The young people of the world represent our hope and potential as a people and their right to education is worth fighting for. Striding on the thought, CT Group of Institutions organised a Face Painting "Peinture-de-Visage" competition at its Shahpur Campus. The event was managed by the Department of Fashion Design, CT Institute of Hotel Management (CTIHM) carrying the purpose to spread the social messages on Female Foeticide, Terrorism, Water Conservation, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Right to Education and others. More than 100 students participated in the event by painting their faces with colors in a brilliant manner highlighting the need to discard such social evils and work for the conservation of our natural resources. Ms. Shallu with partner Ms. Prabhjot Kaur was the winner of the competition while Mr. Manjinder Singh with partner Ms. Mandeep Kaur and Ms. Sunita Kumari with partner Ms. Ramanpreet Kaur secured second and third place respectively.
Dr. Bharat Kapoor (Director, CTIHM) said that the main purpose of the event was based on this quote, “Face is the index of mind”, keeping this quote in mind this competition has planned. So these days whatever social things or issues roaming in the mind of every person would be showcased through this face painting competition. He said, "This is an effective way to spread knowledge through painting as visual art have more impact than any other mediums to spread anything."
Dr. G.S. Kalra (Campus Director, CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur) attended the event in the presence of other faculty members and staff. They shared their valuable experience and knowledge with the students of CTIHM and also appreciated such amazing and wonderful workshop. S. Charanjit Singh Channi congratulated the students for depicting their best of the talent in the most effective way of raising message against social evils.
