Jalandhar 3 September (Jaswinder Azad)- Dept. Journalism and Mass Communication of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organized an educational visit to Doordarshan Kendra, Jalandhar in which almost 50 students of B.A.( Journalism and Mass Communication) and B.Voc(Photography and Journalism) participated with full zeal and enthusiasm. During this visit students also participated in a live show to know the steps involved in the production of live programmes . Students were taken to the various important sections of Doordarshan Kendra from duty room to make-up section, production studios, and editing section to learn the significance of each and every dept. They were also told about the need of set designing and lighting for the presentation of a programme. During this visit students had an informative and interesting interaction with the Director and programme producers of Doordarshan Kendra,Jalandhar. The Director of Jalandhar Doordarshan Kendra enlightened the students with the role of television especially Doordarshan in the social development and the vision of Doordarshan were also told to the students by the director. She also congratulated the students for their active participation in the live show. The Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the dept. of JMC, Headed by Dr.Rubal Kanozia for organsing such a meaningful visit for the journalism students. She maintained that providing practical field knowledge along with the theory is the need of the hour and these kinds of visit play an instrumental role for the overall development of the students.
