Teachers’ Day celebrations held at Kamla Nehru College for women

Jalandhar 5 September (Jaswinder Azad)- The occasion of Teachers Day was celebrated with great zeal at Kamla Nehru College for women, Phagwara on Tuesday. The celebrations were organized by the students who have opted for the Add on Course of Event Management being run by PG Department of Commerce of the college led by incharges Mrs. Poornima Bhogal and Ms. Megha. College Principal Dr. Kiran Walia was the chief guest at the celebration. Speaking on the occasion, she talked about the importance that teachers have in our lives and motivated the students to show love and respect for their teachers. During the celebrations, the students presented a PPT with images of prominent Indian gurus and the faculty members of various departments of the college. The students gave various performances highlighting the teacher-student relationship. Head Girl of the college Anjali Gupta gave a speech highlighting the importance of the day and gave gratitude to the teachers for always supporting the students. Later, various games were organized for the faculty members of the college.
On the occasion, the installation ceremony of office bearers of Kamla Nehru Junior College for Women was also performed. Gurleen became Head Girl while Neha became Vice Head Girl of Junior College. On the occasion, the department of Nutrition and Dietetics organized a cooking competition for the faculty members in which Ms. Vanshika Handa Prabhakar from this department stood first while Ms. Parvinder from Department of Fashion designing stood second.
