Jalandhar 18 October (Jaswinder Azad)- India’s premier festival of lights Diwali was celebrated with full color and zest at Lyallpur Khalsa College wherein College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra graced the program as chief guest. College students presented various entertainment laden activities such as folk songs, Luddi, Gazal, Gidha and Bhangra much to the entertainment of the audience. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra emphasized the need to celebrate such historical occasions with harmony and social coherence. He also urged the students and staff members to celebrate the festival of Diwali in an environment friendly manner as the continuous polluting of the environment has led to the need to celebrating Green Diwali much to the cause of protecting our planet. The program was witnessed and participated in by a large number of students of the college. All the respective heads of various departments also graced the program and the duties on the stage were performed by Dr. Sukhdev Singh Nagra.
