Jalandhar 7 November (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar - the Heritage and Autonomous institution is always acknowledged as leader to nurture and empower its students through various extracurricular activities. In the series of such events, Women Studies Centre of KMV has organized various competitions Like Poster making, Chart making, Declamation, Rangoli, Poetical Recitation, Click Mania and Street Play on women related issues. The main objective of the event was to generate awareness about gender equality and to increase self confidence and self esteem among upcoming women leaders. In this event , more than hundred students participated in various activities. In Poetical recitation Divya from BSc economics, V Semester and Pawanpreet of BA Semester won 1st prize. In declamation contest, Jasleen of +2 bagged 1st prize and Palwinder of BA III Semester got 2nd prize. In click mania, Rupali won first prize, Raman got 2nd prize, Khushbu bagged 3rd prize.
Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi, Director , women studies centre appreciated the efforts of students who participated in various activities enthusiastically. She acquainted the students with the purpose and aim of women studies centre and motivated them to realize their true potential. She averred that women are taking the leadership roles and have learned to assert their individuality. She urged the students to enter those areas which are thought to be male dominated to bring equality and neutrality. The Principal lauded the efforts of Amanpreet Khurana, co-ordinator of Women Studies Centre.
