Jalandhar 20 December (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya – The Heritage and Autonomous Institutions organized a Faculty Development Program on the topic 'Role of Autonomous Institutions on the Enhancement of Higher Education'. Coming at a juncture when Kanya Maha Vidyalaya has achieved autonomy, this FDP had added relevance and impact. Addressing the faculty members Madam Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that autonomy widens the scope of an institution and has umpteen advantages. Under the newly gained autonomous status KMV will get an opportunity to design relevant and contemporary courses for prescribed study which will help make students globally employable. We will use modern tools of educational technology to achieve higher standards a global education.
Then Dr. Madhumeet, Dean Student Welfare made an enlightening presentation in which she apprised all the faculty member about the rich legacy of K.M.V. and also the glorious present in which the institution has achieved excellence by becoming the first heritage, women, institution this part of region, first college of G.N.D.U. to be awarded the D.D.U. Kaushal Kendra by the Govt. of India, first autonomous institution in Punjab. She further posted the faculty members about the new courses which were to be started in the coming session. It was only the autonomous status which has enabled K.M.V. to provide wide choice of courses to our wards. The introduction of new courses like B.B.A. (Hons), B.Sc. Agriculture, B.Sc. Food Science and Technology, B.Sc. (Hons) IT, and many P.G. Courses and Diplomas will contribute to the higher education sector.
