Lyallpur Khalsa College organized a brief event

Jalandhar 19 February (Jaswinder Azad)- PG Department of Punjabi, Lyallpur Khalsa College organized a brief event featuring which saw overseas Punjabi writer and coordinator of Punjabi Sahit Sabha (Surrey), Charan Singh and Mr. Janak Raj Singh interact with students of MA Punjabi. College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra and Prof. Gopal Singh Buttar, Head, PG Department of Punjabi welcomed the dignitaries to the college and Prof. Buttar briefed the audience about their noteworthy contribution to Punjabi Culture and literature. In his address, the chief guest for the occasion, Charan Singh talked about his creative writing process which has continued to flourish overseas due to his strong connections with his native place and its culture. Mr. Janakraj Singh also relived his association with the college spanning over five decades. Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra also lauded the role played by Charan Singh and Janakraj Singh in the prosperity of Punjabi Literature and language on foreign lands and thereby also as bringing laurels to Lyallpur Khalsa College. To conclude the program, Prof. Gopal Singh Buttar, Head, PG Department of Punjabi thanked the dignitaries for their visit to the college. The occasion was also witnessed by Prof. Jasreen Kaur, Dean Academic Affairs, Dr. Jaspal Singh, Head, Department of Physical Education, the students and the entire staff of Punjabi Department. The stage proceedings were managed by Dr. Surinderpal Mand.
