Jalandhar 28 February (Gurkirat Singh)- On the occasion of superannuation of Ms. Chander Rekha Sandhir, Head of Political Science Department, the entire family of Kamla Nehru College for Women, Phagwara gave a warm farewell to her at a special function held at college premises on Wednesday. President of College Managing Committee Mr. I K Sardana, members of college managing committee, College Principal Dr. Kiran Walia and the entire college staff attended the function. Speaking on the occasion, College Principal Dr. Kiran Walia remembered the outstanding works done by Ms. Sandhir in the college and added that the college will always remember her as a very hard working and dedicated staff member. On the occasion, various performances by the department of music were held. Later, a PPT depicting the memories and achievements of Ms. Sandhir was presented and a citation was read by Ms. Anuradha from English department. On behalf of political science department Dr. Rinka and on behalf of the staff members, staff secretary Ms. Sanjana Walia spoke about her contribution during her professional career. Later, Ms. Sandhir and her family members were honoured by the members of the management, College Principal and staff members. Thanking the college for the celebration, Ms. Sandhir emotionally recalled her time spent in the college. She added that the college is an integral part of her life and something that she will miss a lot in the coming days.
