Jalandhar 10 March (Jaswinder Azad)- The PG Department of Commerce and Management of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized a Group Discussion competition for the students of second and third year classes of graduation. More than 60 students participated in this competition. The basic objective of this competition was to develop interpersonal skills in students. Dr. Seema Khanna and Dr. Minakshi Duggal judged the competition. 60 students were divided into 10 different groups. The topics for discussion were from various spheres like social, economic and political. These were ‘Will GST propel business and economic growth, Startups – Is the idea as successful as envisaged, Is India truly going digital?’. For final round, 16 students were selected. The students discussed these concepts and its current scenario in India. Muskan Virdi and Himanshi Kalra of B.Com. Sem. VI won first prize. Anupriya and Geetanjali of B.Com. Sem IV won second and third prize respectively. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and Head of Commerce Deptt. Dr. Kanwaldeep gave the prizes to the winners. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Sareen said that conducting such competitions is necessary for developing overall personality of the students.
