Jalandhar 2 March (Jaswinder Azad)- Organic Holi was celebrated in the premises of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya by the joint efforts of Innovation Cell and Environment Club. The chief guest of the occasion was Justice (Retd.) Sh. N.K. Sud, Chairman Local Committee. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen welcomed him. Justice Sud blessed the students and encouraged them to play safe and organic Holi. On this occasion, organic colours were made available to the staff and students with the help of KVM Jalandhar. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen appreciated the efforts of students for taking a step towards making the festivals eco-friendly. Mrs. Jyoti Kaul, Incharge Environment Club said that organic colours are safe and don’t harm the skin. Dean Innovations Mrs. Ramnita Saini Sharda said that the concocted colours from the Pink (Gulal) of Rose Petals, the Yellow of Amaltash flower (Golden Shower), the Green of tree leaves and the Orange of Palash leaves do not harm our body even when they are accidentally consumed. This makes organic colours kid-friendly and bio-degradable. Dr. Anjana Bhatia told that the dyes obtained from plants are free from harmful chemicals like lead, mercury, etc. The students of HMV played Holi with natural shades and shared their festive fervour with each other. Office bearer students of Innovation Cell and Environment Club participated with great enthusiasm.
