Jalandhar 21 April (Jaswinder Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Autonomous and Heritage Institution, Jalandhar celebrated the Earth Day in the campus. The students were sensitized on the various environmental issues. Under the social outreach initiatives the college has already taken up environmental issues in a big way. To connect the Youth to the cause, the Gandhian studies centre of KMV organized a Tree Donation Camp with a call of each one get one. The Department of Environmental sciences organized Poster making competition and motivated the students to contribute Saplings in the camp. The response to this call was tremendous. More than 200 saplings were donated in the camp. Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi, a strong motivator for social causes and an inspiration to the students, congratulated Dr. Monika Sharma, Director, Gandhian Studies Centre and Dean, Social outreach for the new concept of organizing Tree donation camp. She also appreciated Ms. Sadhna Tandon, Dean, Life sciences, Ms. Sufalica and Ms. Sonam from the department of Environmental sciences for Sensitizing the students and making the camp big success. She thanked all the students for joining the cause and asked them to connect to such initiatives in future too.
