Jalandhar 13 April (Jaswinder Azad)- Keeping in line with the traditions of celebrating and honoring the occasions of Punjabi Culture, Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar celebrated the festival of 'Vaisakhi' in the college premises today. In a grand event organized by the college, students presented various performances such as Gidha, Bhangra, Songs and lyrical items to mark the festivities. Speaking on the occasion, College Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra discussed the historical and cultural background of the festival of 'Vaisakhi' that saw the formation of Khalsa Panth by Tenth Guru Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji. It was also duly mentioned that this day also marks the harvesting of the wheat crop in Punjab and celebration of such festivals leads to cultural and social harmony.
